​Actions taken over sexual abuse of minors

Bishop Gerald R. Barnes said in an Oct. 6-7, 2018 letter to parishioners that he has decided “to make public the names of all priests who have ministered in the Diocese of San Bernardino that have credible allegations of sexual abuse of a minor.” In his letter, Bishop Barnes apologizes and underscores his commitment to protect children and adults from abuse. Riverside and San Bernardino had until 1978 been part of the Diocese of San Diego, which has released a list of priests who have faced credible allegations involving sexual abuse of a minor. Here is a link to the San Diego diocese list:

St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church on Sept. 25 and Sept. 27, 2018, held town hall discussions in English and Spanish on the issue of sexual abuse of minors. Our parish prepared a report for Bishop Barnes on the event, which included small-group discussions, presentations by representatives of the Diocesan Review Committee and opportunities to ask questions and get answers.  (Update) Read the report here.
